The cost of accommodation in 2026 is being held at the same prices as 2025 with the Migration Special in October. The Observatory will be open from 20th May to 31st October 2026.

We can offer accommodation to guests with special access or mobility requirements on the ground floor.
All quoted prices are per person per night. We offer far more than just a hotel room with food. Prices are inclusive of pick-up and drop-off from the plane or boat, full-board meals (breakfast, light lunch and evening meal – set menus and times), comfortable lounge and comprehensive library, access to in-house ornithological expertise and Ranger Service, access to our bird news WhatsApp group, bird ringing demonstrations, and occasional entertainment events such as music, quizzes, talks etc.
A non-refundable deposit of 10% of your total bill is payable when confirming your booking, with the balance due 8 weeks before your visit. We would prefer you to make a bank transfer to reduce our transaction costs, but you can also pay using PayPal.
Special offer in late October 2026
Due to room availability at the end of the season, we are running a special price of £99 per person per night for stays of 7 nights or more between 15th-30th October, available on both single and twin rooms. This is a key time for extreme rarities - Rufous-tailed Robin, multiple Siberian Rubythroats, Chestnut-eared Bunting have all turned up in that fortnight.

Discount for Shetland and Orkney residents
Shetland and Orkney residents can get a 20% discount on bookings at the observatory in July and August 2026, as well as friends and family of Fair Isle residents.
